Adoption
Adoption is a beautiful and sometimes difficult road.
But, you don’t have to walk it alone.
We would be happy to connect you with our trusted private-adoption partners. They will educate you on your rights as the birth parent, and help you create an adoption plan, all on your terms.
What is Open Adoption?
In an open adoption, the birth parent(s) can continue to communicate with the child and the adoptive family after the adoption is finalized. This can range from emails or phone calls to in-person visits, depending on the closeness of their relationships.
What is a Semi-Open Adoption?
In a semi-open adoption, the birth mother and adoptive family can maintain contact with each other after the adoption is finalized. They send pictures and letters to each other on a set schedule. Communication is managed by the adoption agency.
What is a Closed Adoption?
In a closed adoption, the adoptive family receives only the medical and social history of each birth parent and their family. The birth mother can select the adoptive family based on non-identifying profiles, but is not expected to communicate with them before or after the adoption is finalized.Do I Get to Choose the Adoptive Family?
Yes. As the birth mother, you are provided information on a few families that would be a great match for your child. After reviewing their bios and speaking with the team, you will decide which family is the best fit.
Are the Adoptive Parents good people?
All of our adoptive families have completed thorough training and qualification checks to ensure the best future for your child. Before being considered for placement these families must complete 15+ hours of training, pass criminal background checks and driving record checks, be evaluated by a licensed social worker or adoption specialist, and be CPR/First Aid qualified. What if I change my mind?
After the adoption, the State of Arkansas allows a 10 day waiting period for the birth parents to change their mind.
