  • The abortion pill is a two-step medication process used in early pregnancy. It is sometimes called:

    • medication abortion

    • chemical abortion

    • self-managed abortion

It is not the same as the morning-after pill.

The first medication blocks progesterone, a hormone needed for pregnancy to continue. The second medication, taken later, causes cramping and bleeding to empty the uterus.

Because this process happens in steps, some women reconsider after taking the first pill.

  • In some cases, yes—if treatment begins soon after the first pill is taken.

Abortion Pill Reversal uses progesterone, a hormone naturally produced during pregnancy, to help support the pregnancy after the first medication has been taken.

Studies have reported success rates between 64–68% when treatment begins early.

The sooner you reach out, the more options may be available.

  • If you have taken the first abortion pill and want to continue your pregnancy:

    1. Contact the Helpline right away

    2. A medical professional will ask a few questions

    3. If appropriate, they will connect you with a provider to begin care

You don’t have to figure this out alone. Help is available.

  • Do I Get to Choose the Adoptive Family?
Yes. As the birth mother, you are provided information on a few families that would be a great match for your child. After reviewing their bios and speaking with the team, you will decide which family is the best fit.

Are the Adoptive Parents good people?
All of our adoptive families have completed thorough training and qualification checks to ensure the best future for your child. Before being considered for placement these families must complete 15+ hours of training, pass criminal background checks and driving record checks, be evaluated by a licensed social worker or adoption specialist, and be CPR/First Aid qualified.

Abortion Pill Reversal has been shown to increase the chance that a pregnancy may continue after the first abortion pill has been taken. However, results cannot be guaranteed and outcomes vary from person to person.

Speaking with a medical professional as soon as possible is the most important next step.
